World holds its breath as Trump MY WAY OR...

THE eyes of the world will turn to America tomorrow as President Donald Trump strides into the Oval Office.

The controvers­ial new US President has made many promises to his nation and has already shown he has his own way of doing things.

He won office vowing to ring in the changes within hours of entering the White House.

And his inaugural speech, with its “America First” theme, showed where his priorities lie.

Tomorrow on the Oval Office desk there will be an envelope addressed “To # 45, From # 44” containing a message from his predecesso­r Barack Obama.

But more important to Mr Trump will be the to-do list.

On Friday, shortly after being sworn in, he signed an executive order “minimising the economic burden” of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.

Mr Trump has been an outspoken critic of the plan arguing it has created £1.45trillion in new health spending that is unaffordab­le.

Dangerous

Theresa May is eager to be the first leader to meet Mr Trump and will fly to Washington on Thursday.

Yesterday morning Mr Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and their families attended a national prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral. Before church, the President tweeted: “It all begins today. The movement continues – the work begins.”

Afterwards he was to visit the CIA for what was expected to be a tense meeting. He has accused intelligen­ce officers of leaking an explosive dossier alleging the Russians held compromisi­ng material on him.

He has also criticised the CIA over its judgment that Russia interfered with the 2016 presidenti­al election on his behalf by hacking into emails linked to rival Hillary Clinton. First on his to-do list for tomorrow will be to start work to build a 40ft “impenetrab­le, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern border wall” to stop halt illegal immigrants from Mexico.

He also aims to begin swiftly removing foreign criminals and taken action against countries refusing to take these nationals back.
