TV DANIELLE TELLS HOW SHE WAS BEATEN UP AND ABUSED I suffered a sex attack at 13.. I buried it deep for 20yrs but it affected all my relationships

footballer Jamie O’Hara – but finally felt ready to open up to her new fiancé, electrician Michael O’Neill, 30.

Liverpool- born Danielle was on a skiing holiday in Austria, aged 13, with a group of friends.

She had spent the day on the slopes and the instructor joined her group for dinner. As she went to the toilet, he followed her into the ladies.

She recalled: “He dragged me into one of the cubicles. I can still feel his hands on me. I can remember him grabbing me, the smell, the colours, I don’t think it will l ever leave me.

“He got me intonto the cubicle and shut the door.r. He touched me. I kicked andnd screamed, and I fought himm off.

“I’ve never beenen so scared. I managed ged to get the door or open and I ran.”

A few weekss ago the mum-of- three went to see TV therapist Mandy Saligari for a new show – and was surprised when it all just came out. She says: “It took a lot for me to say the words to Mandy. Afterwards, I cried for hours.” She star went on to confide in her mum and Michael. Danielle said: “My mum was just so upset. At 13 I was such an innocent little girl. I wasn’t even thinking about boys at that age. I went on to be in violent relationships and to be needy.” Danielle’s low self-esteem as a teenager meant she stayed in one unhealthy relations relationship for years. She s said of the man: “He was violentvio and mentally abusiv abusive. He didn’t let me go o out. I lost all my fri friends because he w wanted to keep me to himself. “My t eenage y years were a really d dark place.” Another boyfriend was worse. She recalled: “He would smash chairs over my head and throw plates of food at me.”

Danielle says her confidence remained at rock bottom – the reason, she feels, she put up with the horrific violence.

In 2007 she faced more trouble on Celebrity Big Brother. She, the late Jade Goody and Jo O’Meara were accused of bullying Shilpa Shetty.

Danielle, who appears in Channel 5’s In Therapy on Wednesday, admits: “I had never been friends with girls before. I was just trying to make people like me.”

She turned to drink and drugs in order to cope and first went into rehab in 2009.

Marriage to Jamie came in 2012, with divorce in 2014. But last year she got engaged to Michael – and is convinced she has finally met her Prince Charming.

Danielle said: “I think everything happens in your life to make you the person you are. I’m such a strong person now and I have so much confidence.”
