CHRIS Eubank’s estranged son is to play his boxing legend dad in a film – after the pair finally ended a rift that had dragged on for 27 years.

Nathanael Wilson, 28, will appear in the bigscreen story about Michael Watson, who struggled back from a coma and brain damage after his bout with Eubank in 1991.

Father and son had never spoken until last year when superstar Chris, who has four other children, reached out to Nathaniel after he became a dad for the first time.

Nathanael, who is also a boxer, said: “My dad gives me advice about boxing, that’s about the extent of the relationship we have. And it is quite a new relationship.

“He knows about the film and he has given his blessing for me to play the part.”

Nathanael was born after his mum dated Eubank for six months.

Turmoil

Eubank, 50, rated the third best British supermiddleweight boxer of all time, refused to have anything to do with him. But after a paternity test he agreed to provide maintenance.

Nathanael, nickname Banks, ended up in Croydon, South London, and after a tough upbringing has become a successful boxer.

He will star in the movie Michael, which covers Watson’s battle from the brink of death and Eubank’s turmoil after the bout.

Nathanael has met Watson, 51, whose lack of treatment in the crucial minutes after his knockout triggered a radical shake-up in the medical care of boxers.

Eubank’s son said: “I didn’t even step into a boxing gym until I was 20. I never watched it but I could never get away from it.”

Director Sean Cronin said: “It’s so great to have Nathanael on board. He has got his dad’s posh accent down to a tee as well.”

Eubank’s other boxer son Chris Junior, 27, won a world super middleweight title

last weekend.
