Tunisia family’s hol hell

- By Lewis Panther

A COUPLE who cheated death in the Tunisian terror attack have had their honeymoon ruined in a holiday nightmare.

Saera Wilson and Mathew James were double-booked at the Florida villa they chose to celebrate their wedding and their first trip abroad since the massacre.

The couple, married in January, had even picked securely gated homes in Kissimmee because of their terrifying experience.

They and children Tegan, seven, and Caden, three, ended up on the sofa of Good Samaritan Brits for one night – before being sent to a cramped budget hotel by online firm Disney Area Villas.

When they still had nowhere to stay for the third night, the distraught Cardiff family contacted us – and Virgin Holidays kindly stepped in to help. We also helped Saera get the £750 villa deposit refunded.

Saera, 27, said: “I couldn’t believe it was happening. It’s the first time we’ve been away since Tunisia. I couldn’t stop crying.”

Hero Mathew, 32, was hit by three bullets as he dived on Saera during ISIS gunman Seifeddine Rezgui’s rampage in Sousse in June 2015. Both suffered post traumatic stress disorder and need counselling.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Disney Area Villas and another rental firm, Disney And I, have been swamped by doublebooking complaints. Neither have links to The Walt Disney Company.

A Florida police spokesman said: “We are investigating allegations of fraud involving Kissimmee properties made by a number of British holidaymakers.”
