JFK named as world ’s worst airport because of queues
BRITISH travellers have named New York’s JFK as the world’s worst airport.
Frustrated fliers told of waiting three hours to clear immigration there – and that was before President Trump’s travel ban caused chaos earlier this year.
Johannesburg international airport in South Africa was voted second worst, followed by San Francisco, Singapore and Miami.
The only UK airport named and shamed was Glasgow international, voted sixth worst.
Analysis by the consumer rights website Resolver shows the biggest grumble among pas- sengers was about flight delays and cancellations.
Last year it dealt with 84,287 complaints about delayed flights – up by 145 per cent on 2015. But Resolver says many complaints arose from shoddy treatment of passengers, especially in America. Website founder James Walker said: “There’s a big reason for this – queues.
“Checking in is just as bad as clearing earing immigration. Many weary travellers have waited at US airports while two staff man the check-in desk and departure time slips even further away.”
Resolver says technology has actually made the things worse because there are fewer peo people to ask for help. Complaints also include feeling “trapped” in airside shopping centres, surly staff and baggage problems.
Mr Walker added: “What happens at the airport can set the tone for a whole holiday.” KHLOE Kardashian’s outfit is undie-niably revealing as she steps out in LA.
