As the pilot put up with our squeals of delight he made a call about where to land – on a rock.

Clambering out we then found a flat space where our yoga teacher set up camp.

The surreal backdrop coupled with the teacher’s self-help recording heard through our headphones made it seem like we had stepped into a Salvador Dali painting.

“You know who you are, and all you need is the truth. The truth is all we need.”

OK, it sounds a bit new age and bonkers, but after stretching my body and inhaling the crisp air, I felt like a new woman.

Delighted with our epic adventure, the helicopter then flew us through the bright lights of the Vegas strip.

On a high, we went on to admire the sunset at Skyfall Lounge at Delano. Watching the sun disappear and the skyline light up is a wonder in itself.

After downing a few cosmopolitan cocktails we dined at Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay.

The restaurant boasts its very own “dare game” and will leave you in hysterics. One pal ended up hopping round the bar pretending to be a cat while bemused punters tried to work out what was going on.

We also tried Top Golf a weird fusion of golf an and bowling and we hit some balls hard but wayward and sank a few more coc cocktails. The next morning’s selfie check was a sight better forgotten as my teq tequila sunrise hangover came fu full circle to hit me in the face l like a boomerang.

And that is Vegas. You will leave on a high – but never totally eclipse that hangover... FACTFILE:F Return flights with V Virgin Atlantic from £900, call 08 0844 209 2770. IF skydiving is not for you but you have Fomo (fear of missing out), head to Vegas Indoor Skydiving and be shot into a vacuum by a very strong wind. Hopefully not your own. BE extra bemused and channel your inner builder at Dig This – a digger playgroud. It is quite thrilling digging dirt out of the ground. Who knew? SHOPPING is impressive in Vegas.
