Chelsea loan duo recalled
ANTONIO CONTE wants to run the rule over two of his loan stars this summer before deciding their fate.
The Chelsea boss is calling Bertrand Traore and Andreas Christensen back from Ajax and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively, to see if they have an immediate future at first-team level with him.
Both players have prospered away from the Blues – and Premier League and Championship clubs have already enquired about offering those players another loan campaign.
But Conte will make his own decision before giving them the green light as to where they will end up.
Chelsea have managed the loan system superbly during the past decade, either adding value to several of their players or preparing them for first-team duty.
Energy
Stars such as Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku have left temporarily and the Blues have cashed in after allowing them to play for a season at another club.
Forward Traore, 21, has been in Holland for the past two seasons, first at Vitesse Arnhem and then Ajax.
He played against Manchester United in the Europa League Final last month and his return would add to the energy in Conte’s ranks.
Centre-half Christensen, also 21, has picked up international honours with Denmark while in Germany.
