POGBA’S GAME OF PATIENCE
PAUL POGBA escaped a red card but admitted he tried the patience of referee Jonathan Moss as MANCHESTER UNITED notched another 4-0 win.
Jose Mourinho’s men are top of the table after their best ever start to a season, eclipsing the performance 110 years ago when they scored four in the first two matches, but conceded one.
United have enjoyed a faultless start this term but it could have been different if Mr Moss had shown Pogba a second yellow mid-way through the first half at SWANSEA with the score 0-0.
He had already been booked for a tackle on Tom Carroll when he fouled Martin Olsson and Pogba said: “The second one, no, the first one, I saw it again it’s a yellow card.
“We had a lot of pressure and we were not in the best moment and I was doing some stupid fouls.
“But the second one I wasn’t worried, so for me it wasn’t a foul. And that’s why I laughed with him, I said ‘Are you serious?’ So it’s okay.”
WEST HAM suffered a heartbreaking away defeat to SOUTHAMPTON. After going down to 10 men following the dismissal of summer signing Marko Arnautovic for a stray elbow they went 2-0 behind, fought back to 2-2 only to lose to an injury time penalty by substitute Charlie Austin.
Hammers striker Javier Hernandez, who scored both his side’s goals, said: “When you are running most of the game with 10 men, the penalty decision is harsh. We spoke about Marko Arnautovic’s sending off, it is not completely a red card.”
BOURNEMOUTH manager boss Eddie Howe admits he is worried by his team’s pointless start to the season following their 2-0 loss at home to WATFORD. He said:“I’m concerned because we have not looked like scoring. There is a lot for us to work on. We now have Manchester City and Arsenal, so we need to react quickly.”
Alexandre Lacazette had a great strike ruled out for offside in the second half as STOKE continued to be ARSENAL’S unhappy place, their latest trip ending in a 1-0 defeat to a Jese Rodriguez debut goal. FOR EVERY MATCH REPORT
