Acid attack on victim of killed burglar’s family

- By Joe Duggan

A VICTIM of the notorious Henry Vincent family has suffered a horrific acid attack in his own home.

The 60-year-old man had been conned out of £6,000 by relatives of burglar Vincent, who was stabbed to death during a break-in by householder Richard Osborn-brooks.

David Vincent, 50, and his son, also David, 26, preyed on the man by doing work on his roof that did not need to be done.

The man complained to police, who arrested the pair.

A few weeks later the victim answered his door in Dartford, Kent, and had acid thrown at his face.

He suffered burns to his neck and only escaped being blinded because he was wearing glasses.

The victim, who works as an administrator for a private company, spent a week in hospital and needed skin grafts.

He has been left with major scarring on his neck.

David Vincent and his son are uncle and cousin of Henry Vincent, 37, who died during a botched breakin at the home of Mr Osbornbrooks, 78, in Hither Green, South East London in April.

David Vincent Snr was jailed for 21 months at Maidstone crown court, Kent last month after admitting fraud.

His son was jailed for 18 months and another man for 21 months.

This week Kent Police said: “We are investigating a report that a man was assaulted at a property in Dartford between 4.30pm and 5pm on Sunday 26 November 2017.

“A noxious substance is reported to have been thrown at the victim after he answered his door. Three men from Orpington have been arrested on suspicion of assault.”
