Cooking show is Childs play

- By Antonia Paget

AMY Childs has become the latest Towie star to cash in on motherhood – with a parenting and cookery show. The Essex model teams up with baby expert and author Annabel Karmel for a six-part series on ITV2. A source told the Sunday People: “Amy will be showing viewers, with Annabel’s expert help, how to cook easy meals that are healthy for everyone and low in sugar.” Amy, 27, who is pregnant with her second child, will also travel the UK meeting experts to discuss issues affecting new parents. The source added: “In one episode she meets a 90-year-old midwife who will help dispel myths around parenting and some conflicting messages parents get.” The series will also give advice about schooling for kids. ITV are hoping it will be as successful as Amy’s former co-stars Sam and Billie Faiers’s show about being new mums. The Mummy Diaries was recently given a fourth series after pulling in some of ITVBE’S highest ratings. And ITV is showing a second series of Ferne Mccann’s First Time Mum documentary about her life as a single mother with daughter Sunday. Amy has previously come under fire from Twitter trolls after posting pictures of her and daughter Polly. In Cape Verde last year she was accused of not putting sun cream on her baby, despite stating she had. She was also criticised for saying she wanted to wean Polly at five months, four weeks before the NHS suggests it. A source said: “Being a new mum can be very confusing. Amy just wants the best for her children, like anyone, and she will be hoping her series helps other mums.” Amy had her first child, Polly, last April. Six weeks later she split with the dad, ex-con Bradley Wright. The beautician is due to give birth to her second child in September with her latest partner, a businessman called Ritchie who is an ex of Towie buddy Chloe Sims. The new series will be a boost for Amy, forced to shut her Brentwood beauty salon and boutique last year. Amy’s spokeswoman declined to comment.
