CHILD RAPIST AT THE PALACE

Victim fury over honours day out

- By Isolde Walters

A CHILD rapist enjoyed a Buckingham Palace outing to see his wife honoured by Prince William.

Former soldier Ian Knight was found guilty of ten sex offences, including two of repeatedly raping one of four victims – three girls and a boy – from when she was only eight.

The 55-year-old predator appeared at the palace with his wife, Major Pauline Murrayknight, on the same day celebrities Ed Sheeran and JK Rowling were honoured.

He watched as the Duke of Cambridge awarded Pauline an MBE for her mental health work. She has also counselled male and female rape victims.

Last night one of Knight’s victims told the Sunday People: “He is a truly appalling man who has ruined my life.

“I can’t believe he was at the palace while police were aware he was accused of such serious offences. My blood ran cold.”

Knight, of Nuneaton, Warks, was jailed for 12 years in March, following the Palace trip in December.

Warwickshire crown court was told he continually raped an eight-year-old girl when he was in his early teens.

The abuse began when he approached the girl while she played on a swing and touched her breasts.

From then on, he took every opportunity he could to abuse her. The court also heard how he had made her act out scenes he had seen in adult magazines and kept her quiet with threats. Knight also assaulted a young boy during a game of hide and seek. He evaded justice for 40 years until one of his victims went to the police, after many years of counselling, and other victims came forward. The victim added: “To find out the man responsible for my trauma has been to such a worthy occasion fills me with fury. “His victims are deserve recognition and not him. I hope we can all find peace and he rots in prison where he belongs.” The palace had no comment.

His victims deserve recognition, not him...i hope he rots in jail
