CORRIE JACK’S LADY IN RED DRIVES NEIGHBOURS CRAZY

- By Phil Cardy

CORRIE housemates Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith made their neighbours see red by belting out a classic Chris de Burgh ballad during a barbie.

The actors moved into a £300,000 flat in January with Ackley Bridge star Freddie Bolt, who has described the pad as a “boys’ club” in which the three of them have a “blast”.

And this week, they appeared to go public with their bromance as Colson serenaded Jack with de Burgh’s weepie Lady in Red.

Jack, 30, posted a video on Instagram that showed him cooking a barbecue on the property’s balcony while Jack, 19, sings the 1986 tune. Jack shouts: “Barbecue with my sweetheart… go on Colson.” But neighbours who contacted the Sunday People were not so appreciative. And some complained of general bawdy behaviour and loud singing from the flat.

One irate resident said: “They don’t talk to each other, they just shout and bawl.”

A Coronation Street spokesman said Jack and Colson were unaware of any problems and that none of their neighbours had come forward to make complaints.

But another resident at the block said the noise was such a problem it sometimes sounded as though the pals were playing football in their flat.

Colson, who plays trainee cop Craig Tinker in the hit soap, moved from his family home near Leeds so he could be closer to the Corrie set.

The apartment is within walking distance of the ITV studios at Media City UK in Salford Quays, Manchester.

Jack, who has played David Platt in the hit soap since 2000, moved in after his shock split from his partner – make-up artist Lauren Shippey.

The pair were childhood sweethearts, getting together aged 14, and they have two children – daughter Nyla, eight, and son Reuben, four.
