Scam of the week

-

holiday will be considered a package if you buy more than one part of it with the same company and it was presented as a package or bought for a total inclusive price. Or if you booked one part, then got prompted by the same company to buy another service and completed this within 24 hours without entering payment details again. This change means travel operators will be responsible for each feature sold in a single transaction, regardless of whether they perform the service. So they are liable for providing a remedy if your break is not as expected. Companies must also clearly inform travellers if they are purchasing a package or linked travel arrangement and their rights. An example of a linked travel arrangement is when a flight confirmation email advertises another site and you separately enter payment details to book a service within 24 hours. This safeguard only applies if a company goes bust. ONLINE gaming is making kids an easy target for all kinds of cons. This week, Action Fraud has been warning parents about fraudsters cashing in. In most cases, the young gamer sees an advert on a social media channel. It claims that by following a web link and entering some information, they will get free Vbucks – the game currency. Fraudsters will ask the victim for details about their account, which will then allow them to log in and create fraudulent charges. Like the elderly, children are especially vulnerable so parents need to be vigilant.
