DOUBLE DUCHESS

- By Amy Sharpe

ROYAL sisters-in-law Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle shared some laughs on a girls day out at Wimbledon.

The Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex chatted away like the best of friends during their first joint public outing without their husbands yesterday.

The pair, both 36, cheered on Meghan’s pal Serena Williams on Centre Court – two months after the tennis star attended her wedding to Prince Harry.

But the US ace, 36, lost in straight sets to Germany’s Angelique Kerber, 30, missing out on an eighth Wimbledon singles title and denying her a dream comeback after giving birth in September.

Earlier the royals watched Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in their epic five-set semi final. The action on court captivated Kate and Meghan, who exchanged comments and applauded excitedly throughout in the royal box.

Stylish Meghan wore a striped Ralph Lauren shirt – in a nod to the designer who supplies clothing for the ball kids, line judges and umpires.

Kate – on maternity leave after giving birth to Louis in April – looked chic in a white Jenny Packham dress with polka dots.

Tennis legends Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King sat behind the royals while celebs joining the party included actress Emma Watson, F1 star Lewis Hamilton, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, golfer Tiger Woods, and BGT judge Alesha Dixon.

Kate returns to Centre Court today with Prince William, 36 to watch the men’s single final at 2pm.
