Landlady tells of shamed Tory’s pub row Sext barmaid victim complains to Tory body

THE MP who sent sex texts to barmaids was banned from his local on a Christmas Eve after his pal ripped the head off a Santa decoration.

Married Tory Andrew Griffiths, 47, who quit as the minister for small business after his 2,000 messages emerged, was kicked out of the Plough Inn over the bizarre bust-up at 1am.

He hurled £100 cash at the landlady after his chum ripped off a 5ft-high singing Father Christmas’s head at the pub in Burton-on-trent, Staffs, in his constituency.

Landlady Sandra Russell said: “I shouted, “What the hell are you doing? You’ve come into my pub, my home, and you’re breaking things.’ They were drunk. Andrew yelled ‘You can’t talk to us like that.’

“I told them to drink up and go, then Andrew said, ‘There was no need for you to carry on like that.’ I said, ‘No Andrew, that’s disrespectful. It cost me £130.’

“He got £100 out his wallet and threw it at me. The money went in my face and all over the floor. I was angry and upset.

“I went, ‘Get out my pub and don’t bother coming back. You’re barred.’ ”

Sandra added: “He has a vile attitude towards women.

“It’s always women. He wouldn’t speak to a man that way.”

In 2011 Griffiths worked a shift at the Plough to raise awareness of the pressures faced by landlords.

Another local landlady, Debbie Mcghee, owner of The Elms pub, also barred Griffiths in 2015 after a row in which he drunkenly accused her of being discriminating for asking a Down’s syndrome woman for ID.

She said: “He’s vile. I’ve been waiting two and a half years to have my say and now I’ve said it.” A BARMAID bombarded with more than 2,000 messages by disgraced Tory Andrew Griffiths has complained to the party’s disciplinary body.

Imogen Treharne is furious the sex-pest married MP is still at Westminster and has written to the Party’s Code of Conduct watchdog.

Hundreds have backed Imogen’s decision to reveal Mr Griffiths’ vile behaviour as voters in his Burton and Uttoxeter seat called for his head.

But he has refused to step aside. Imogen said: “Nobody in Burton wants him any more, but he has the brass neck to cling on. He’s shown he’s this Jekyll and Hyde character.”

She said she had feared being vilified for exposing Mr Griffiths, 47. But she said: “My inbox has been full of messages from women who say I did the right thing. Women who say they have had similar experiences with men.”

It has emerged he was probed over claims of inappropriately touching a local Conservative councillor when PM Theresa May made him small business minister in January, a role he resigned from last week.

East Staffs council leader Richard Grosvenor said Mr Griffiths, who has gone into hiding, had to consider quitting. He said: “I am not sure how women would want to meet with him. The town hasn’t got a functioning MP.”

Mr Griffiths is understood to be fighting for his marriage, three months after his wife Kate had their daughter.
