BE QUICK, DILL

- By Tom Hopkinson

top and be world champion again – and be the unified champion. All I want to do is to put on the best performance.”

The meeting with Whyte at London’s O2 Arena is huge for both fighters.

Win and a clash with Joshua or Deontay Wilder beckons.

Lose and it will be a long wait for world-title opportunities.

Parker added: “The tough thing about Whyte is that he’s going to put on a lot of pressure because he throws a lot of punches and he can take a punch.

“This is a very tough fight for us, but it’s a fight we love. We love challenges and we love to fight the best out there.

“Whyte did a tremendous job against Lucas Browne. His movement was good and his punches were good.

“Every heavyweight has knockout power. He possesses the power to do a lot of damage, but our goal is not to get hit with those.”

Parker is focused on Whyte (right), but he makes no bones about the fact he fancies another shot at Joshua, possibly at Wembley in April.

Parker added: “If all goes well, ANTHONY JOSHUA says Dillian Whyte must think fast to beat Joseph Parker on Saturday. Joshua (left) said: “Parker is very quick, nimble, so you need to match speed for speed. I beat him at range, matching him speed for speed.

“If I was slow he might have walked away with our fight.

“He can cause Dillian issues, but if I want someone to win, it would be Whyte – that would set up a future fight for us.” there is a very real possibility of fighting Joshua again – and that will be a different fight altogether. That’s for the future and the future is pretty exciting. “Once we get past this guy, we have a lot of options. But we have to take care of this guy first and do it in a great way where we show what we can actually do in the ring and what we have been working on.

Pressure

“I’m expecting him to put on pressure and try to chase me down – although he won’t be doing a lot of chasing because we’re not going to be doing a lot of moving.

“We’re going to be boxing smart and boxing well, we’re going to stand there and throw punches – a lot more than we did in the last fight.

“We take care of this fight and we don’t care who we fight. I want us to be remembered as the team who took on anyone... and everyone.

“I’ll focus on this fight – and then there’s Joshua and Wilder and other different options.”
