NO SEA BREEZE FOR EM

- By Simon Collings

ARSENAL fans should consider a top-four finish a success this season as it will take new boss Unai Emery time to work his magic.

That‘s the view of Gunners legend David Seaman, who fears Emery could be heading for a tough start.

“If I am honest I don’t think it will click straight away because it is a new manager,” Seaman said.

“It is a whole new different way of Arsenal. At the Emirates I am still seeing Arsene’s Wenger’s face everywhere.

“I see him in the dugout – moaning and groaning, and throwing water bottles, and struggling with his zip, stuff like that.

“So it is going to be really hard to get used to somebody else in that seat. It will take time, but I think realistically top four would be a great season for us.”

Former Paris Saintgermain chief Emery replaced Wenger on a twoyear deal in May as the Frenchman stepped down after 22 years in charge.

One of his first acts was to bring in keeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen to help Arsenal’s defensive cause. Despite spending around £20million on the German, Seaman believes current No.1 Petr Cech cannot be overlooked.

“You don’t disregard that experience from a guy that has won everything,” he said.

Arsenal Legends take on Real Madrid Legends at the Emirates on Saturday, September 8, kick-off 2pm.
