KATIE Price’s anguished ex has told how he had an engagement ring made for her – only to find she was cheating on him with another man. Budding reality star Kris Boyson says the split left him so heartbroken that he had a panic attack, prompting a worried friend to stay with him at his home. The fitness instructor told the Sunday People: “I was in love with the girl and until last week she was up for getting married. “Now I keep seeing pictures of her with this new guy. It has proper broken me.” During a whirlwind romance after he and Katie were introduced in May, he spent four months globe-trotting with the three-timeswed TV star, businesswoman and writer. But he says his dreams were dashed last month when she started partying with Alex Adderson and was snapped in a steamy clinch with the rich businessman, 25. He said: “What she has done to me is so damaging. I’ve been ill over it and have lost a stone in weight. I have never been so stressed and she knows that.” Cynics felt Kris, 29 – who has appeared on TV’S Meet The Parents – hooked up with the former model, 40, for her fame and fortune. But Kris, described by her mum as “the perfect partner”, insists he had no interest in her showbiz life. At one point there was talk of him moving into Katie’s mansion in West Sussex. But Kris, opening his heart at his threebedroom semi in Kent, said: “Everyone got it wrong – they thought I was someone I’m not. “When we met, Katie was in pieces and I put her back together. I stopped my life for her and now she does this.” Katie’s onceglamorous life has suffered a host of setbacks, including a current battle against bankruptcy and the prospect of losing her mother Amy to lung disease. The mum-of-five is also involved in a child custody fight with Peter Andre, the first of her three ex-husbands, and was quizzed by police over a “revenge porn” claim by her second, Alex Reid.
In addition she needed a facelift to correct sagging skin and her frequent panellist spots on TV’S Loose Women have ceased.
But Kris was so convinced he would spend the rest of his life with her that he was getting an engagement ring specially made.
Fairytale
“After time spent with Katie I fell totally in love with her,” he said. “I didn’t know what she was about before I got to know her.
“I didn’t follow her life and wasn’t a fan but we just got on. We had lots of banter.
“She’d call me Ginger as she knew it wound me up and I would say she’s old enough to be my nan. So we’d have a right laugh. It’s how we got so close.
“I took her to Bruges for her 40th birthday and it became official then.
“We’d talk of getting married and having kids.
“She said she wanted to have a fairytale ending and live happily ever after. I aimed to surprise her and propose. I was set to ask her dad’s permission. A mate of mine who’s a jeweller was doing the ring.
“I think deep down she knew I was getting one made. Then she started going out all night and not messaging me till she got home at 2am. I began to think something was up.”
Katie missed her kids’ first day of school as she had fun with her new fling in Majorca.
Kris said: “After she was pictured with Alex she apologised and begged me to take her back. Katie said they’d only had dinner together and she wanted another chance.
“I told her, ‘I’m committed and if you want this to work we can keep going – but if you don’t I’ll go and you can move on with him’.
“She said, ‘I want to marry you and have kids with you’, so I took her word. Two days later she flew to Marbella for her hen do – but I knew Alex was there. I texted her, ‘I’m in love with you’, but she never replied. It’s the last time I messaged her.”
Kris added sadly: “I was willing to take on her kids and I’d have adopted her son Harvey but she wanted the party life.”
A representative for Katie last night declined to comment.
Kris requested that his interview fee goes to a charity connected to Katie’s son Harvey.
