Mcgee’s magic for Faye

Rockett’s review

- OUT by Janine Yaqoob

Flawless Faye got four perfect tens for her Charleston to Lonely

Goatherd from The Sound of Music. She and

Giovanni’s masterpiece wouldn’t have looked out of place on Broadway. A glamorous, galloping quickstep to Don’t Rain on My

Parade from

Funny Girl. The role suited Little Miss Perfect Ashley to a tee. It was very busy and she never put a foot wrong. Joe made a fantastic Joseph and would have done fine in the West End. He gave it his all energy-wise but his salsa moves were a bit rigid and flat footed at times. Yet he is so watchable he got away with it.

Our queen of the dance floor KAREN ROCKETT gives

her verdict

Lauren is back in the game and in her comfort zone with a stunning American smooth. She really showed her competitive spirit as she opened musicals week with a song from South Pacific. Beautiful. As Bruno said: “Many men have crumbled at the rumba,” but sexy Charles certainly didn’t. A romantic and confident performance to the song Maria from West Side Story. A natural, he never looks awkward. Stacey and Kevin’s romantic American Smooth was from Les Misérables. With some fantastic lifts it was so moving it made Bruno cry. This couple really told the story – and I Dreamed a Dream. FAYE Tozer has a trick up her sleeve to help her through the final rounds of Strictly – former contestant Debbie Mcgee.

Debbie, 60, wife of the late TV magician Paul Daniels, danced with Faye’s pro partner Giovanni Pernice last year, and told Faye she could phone her for help.

Steps star Faye, who took part in the show’s Musicals Week last night, said: “We get lovely messages from Debbie Mcgee.

“She said when times get tough I need to put Gio in his place, and to give her a call if I need back-up. We’re in cahoots.”

Despite winning fans with her amazing performances alongside Giovanni, 28, Faye says she wishes she could be a bit more like rival Stacey Dooley.

She admitted: “I’d like to have the confidence she has. People absolutely love her.”

Faye, 43, also said favourite Ashley Roberts’s dance off last week was a shock, and “proves that the audience needs to get voting if they want their favourites to go through”.
