Musty men at Palace must give Meghan air

-

ON New Year’s Day Radio 4 are airing a comedy about the Duchess of Sussex called The Sixth In Line To Be King And I.

But if you believe all the rumours flying around this week it should be a comedy horror... An American Werewife in London.

Because, seven months after the wedding, Buckingham Palace insiders are portraying Meghan as a bit of a monster.

She is demanding and “dictatorial” they say, sending staff emails at 5am for heaven’s sake!

They’ve also snitched that Meghan and Kate had a row because the American chided one of the Cambridges’ staff.

Then there’s the clincher – the PROOF that Meghan is a brash bossy-boots set to cause mayhem. She said 15th century St George’s Chapel Windsor “smelt a bit musty” and asked if she could have a few air fresheners on her wedding day. Seriously?

I thought it would take a bit longer for the grey men at the palace to turn on Meghan. But to do so when she’s pregnant and still learning is just nasty.

The public love Meghan because she is a unique royal wife – a divorced American, mixed-race actress with a celebrity profile and a strong, feminist voice. She brought fresh air into the musty monarchy when she married Harry.

And the sniffy old guard should see scents and leave her be.
