HENDO: IT’S ABOUT TIME JOSE KOPS IT

But Jordan wary ‘fantastic’ United can pose threat Van: Mo’s still grin it to win it

-

If Liverpool produce the kind of fast-paced, heavymetal football Klopp loves, Henderson knows victory will follow.

But the Kop skipper – who still speaks to former captain and i c on, and now

Ran g e r s boss, Steven Gerrard ( inset) about the leadership job – takes nothing for granted.

“There is now a new opportunity for us to go and show what we’re about. If we do that, we can get the result we want.

“It’s been said we are significantly better... but definitely not. They’re a world-class team with a world-class manager. Fantastic players and a fantastic manager, who has won lots of trophies.

“I’ve played with the likes of Lingard and Rashford for England and they are top players.

“So probably when you look at the table, you are a little bit surprised that they are not doing as well as they can be.

“As much as people talk about some of the problems they might have had this season, on their day they can beat anybody.

“You saw that against Manchester City last year when City could have won the league. You’d have thought they were dead and buried but they came back and won the game from 2-0 down.

“That shows how much of a threat they are.

“They have that never-say-die attitude and I’m sure they will be thinking this is the perfect opportunity to come and kick-start their season and to start catching the people ahead of them.

“We must make sure we do our job and that that doesn’t happen – and we get the three points.”

Whether Mourinho parks the bus or is more adventurous, Henderson insists Liverpool will be ready.

He said: “You’ve got to prepare for everything. They’re capable of setting up a low block and making it difficult.

“But they’re also capable of coming out and pressing high, so you’ve got to be prepared for everything, but it’s about what we do.” VIRGIL VAN DIJK insists that Mo Salah is having a ball – even though these days the Egyptian ace looks more miserable than Jose Mourinho.

Van Dijk said: “Mo’s scoring goals. He’s smiling. He can’t smile every second of the day but I know he’s enjoying it.

“So we don’t need to see any negative things about that.

“He scored a hat-trick at Bournemouth and scored an important one against Napoli.

“His level is very high. It’s difficult to play against Mo – people underestimate how strong he is. He’s a very important player, a great guy and deadly in the box.”
