STAR PLUGS DISC AT STATIONS
MARIAH Carey is trying to keep her career on the fast track – by plugging her record on the London Underground.
Baffled Tube travellers in the past few days have heard the pop diva telling them to “stay behind the yellow line” then adding: “Check out my new album on Amazon.”
Passenger Lynda Kelly, said: “Whose big idea was it to pay Mariah Carey to make Tube station announcements??? Is this country going mad????”
Another, Dr Susannah Mcgowan, added: “Why is
Mariah Carey doing Tube updates at Waterloo
Station? And why not do them in song?”
The American star,
48, recorded the special f estive announcements after failing to sell thousands of seats on her UK tour this month.
Her latest album Caution went to No40 when it was released and is now out of the top 100, although it hit the top spot in the R&B charts.
But Mariah is still the best-selling female artist of all time with 200 million albums shifted. Also her festive hit All I Want For Christmas Is You is a best-seller 24 years on.
Mariah – worth £400million – was spotted splashing the cash in a Louis Vuitton store and sipping champagne in Aspen, Colorado, on Friday.
The mum- mum of- o two later took to Instagram to share a video of her final Chris Christmas concert.
She s shared a link to a perfo performance of her Christ Christmas song and posted: “I had ha the most amazing time on my Christmas tour tour... Join me on stage for the All I Want For Chr Christmas Is You finale! Me Merry Christmas!!!”
