No silent nights as festive spirit LAIRY XMAS

- By Nicola Small

THE festive spirit is officially in full flow as tens of thousands of revellers hit the streets in fancy dress across the land.

Pubs, bars and clubs were packed this weekend as the wet weather failed to rain on our parade.

And towns were gifted sights including elves, snowmen and reindeer – while some partygoers were even crackers enough to go out in the cold wrapped up in very little at all.

In Birmingham, one group of pals dressed as Nativity figures including the wise men and shepherds – with one even guiding the way as the star.

In Cardiff, a couple were caught snapping a beaming s-elfie while a pair of knit-wits kept warm in a two-person jumper and one fella posed happily with two crackers.

Elsewhere, Leeds city centre played host to some sexy Santas while one cheeky woman rearly was over over-exposed exposed in Manchester.

We are expecte expected to sink around 150 million pints pint over the weekend while most r revellers abide by the spirit of pea peace and good will.

But the traditionally tra messy start of Yuleti Yuletide fun known as Black Eye Fr Friday was no silent nigh night for paramedics as some overdid th the festive cheer.

North East Ambulance got 900 emergency c calls – up 50% on t he previous weekend.
