NEIGHBOUR CLAIMS PAL KILLED IN BUNGLED DRUGS RAID’ Cops shot ex-soldier in the back’

CONJOINED twin girls yesterday flew to Europe for treatment to start their separation from each other.

Smiling two year olds Rabeya and Rukaiya, joined at the top of their heads, were pictured walking to a hospital before their flight to Hungary.

They were holding hands with their dad Mohammed Rafiqul Islam as they A FORMER soldier has died after allegedly being shot in the back by police in what neighbours called a “drugs bust gone wrong”.

Pals called the dead man, named locally as car dealer Sean Fitzgerald, 31, a “very good guy”.

He is said to have been visiting a friend’s house when it was raided by armed police targeting a suspected cannabis farm.

Neighbours heard “four or five shots” in the Coventry drama on Friday evening.

Friend Cory Brown, 28, said police used ladders to climb through windows.

He said: “It was like World War Three. Any person would have been scared and ran. They ran and Sean was shot in the back” Pal Jayson Moore added: “Sean spent Christmas day building trampoline­s and playing with the kids.”

Another friend, who gave his name as Ali, said: “Sean served all of us – the police, everybody – in the Army up until last year.”

Two men were arrested for suspected drugs offences.

Yesterday police said they had yet to find a firearm and denied claims he was shot in the back. Assistant Chief Constable Sue Southern said: “From the informatio­n I have at this point, that is not my understand­ing.

“Body-worn video has been examined and there will be a full forensic postmortem. Findings will be part of the Independen­t Office for Police Conduct investigat­ion.”
