THREE people were killed as a gas blast at a bakery ripped through a tourist area in the heart of Paris yesterday.

Two of the dead were firefighters investigating the leak – with a third colleague pulled from the rubble alive FBI agents investigated whether Donald Trump was working for Russia, it was reported yesterday.

Sources said officials feared the US President was a national security threat and were worried by his behaviour after he fired FBI director James Comey in May 2017.

But Trump’s press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders hit out at the claims. She said: “This after being buried for two and a half hours. The third fatality in the 9am explosion – at first thought to be a terror attack – was a female Spanish holidaymaker. At least 10 people were last night critical with 37 others injured after the is absurd. James Comey was fired because he’s a disgraced partisan hack. Unlike President Obama... President Trump has actually been tough on Russia.”

The FBI counterintelligence probe was rolled into the ongoing Mueller inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to the New York Times. There was also a criminal element focusing on whether fireball near the famous FoliesBergere theatre. A worker from the Hotel Mercure opposite said: “I heard one big explosion and then a lot of black smoke and glass came at me. Thank God I’m OK.” He said the hotel was “destroyed” by the blast. Comey’s sacking was intended to impede investigations into Moscow influence. Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said: “The fact it goes back a year and a half and nothing came of it that showed a breach of national security means they found nothing.”

The US partial government shutdown entered its 22nd day yesterday – as President Trump tweeted: “I do have

a plan on the Shutdown.”
