She was walking h home from school as a 1 17-year-old just weeks af after he had abducted, rap raped and murdered Milly, then hid her body in the countrysid­e.

She claimed a “horrible, sleazy” man attempted to lure her into a car in the summer of 2002.

He pulled into a lay-by as she walked along the A390 to Kingston upon Thames.

She said: “The driver was a horrible, dark haired sleazy guy who had the

windows down. As I pulled level he asked me how old I was and where I was going and said he would give me a lift. He was really intimidati­ng and really pushy.”

She recalled she told the driver “no thanks” but was terrified as he kept insisting and drove alongside her.

The three-part ITV drama centred on the murder of Amelie Delagrange, who was killed as she crossed Twickenham Green in We s t London following a night out i n August 2004.

The cops made a link between her death and that of Milly, snatched on her way from school t o her home in Walton-on-thames, Surrey, in March 2002.

Depraved Bellfield was caught in 2006 and jailed two years later.

The former bouncer and wheel clamper is serving a life sentence with a judge’s recommenda­tion that he is never freed.

Fellow inmates at HMP Frankland include Soham killer Ian Huntley and Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe. Bellfield has been described as one of Britain’s most dangerous killers. It is suspected the full scale of his crimes might never be known.

Now calling himself Yusuf Rahim after converting to Islam in jail, he is s uspected of involvemen­t in 20 other attacks dating back to 1980.
