Award list sizzles

FEISTY females are to the fore in this year’s Brit Awards nominations revealed last night.

Singer Anne-marie, 27, leads the way with four nominations, including for the British album of the year.

She will be up against Jorja Smith, 21, and Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine in that category.

Ciao Adios singer Anne- Marie’s other nods for the February 20 awards show at London’s O2 are for best single, solo female and video artist.

Lost & Found singer Smith is not far behind with two more nominations, in the best solo female and breakthrough categories.

And Jess Glynne, 29, and Welch, 32, will both be hoping to land the best solo female gong. Dua Lipa, 23, whose parents moved to Britain from war-torn Kosovo, is up for best single and video with her hit track, IDGAF.

Glynne, who has four platinum selling albums, said it felt “surreal” to be nominated for best solo female and single, especially as she also features on Rudimental’s track These Days, which is up for best single and video.

She said: “Watching the Brits for so many years it feels like a dream, so to actually be nominated is really, really amazing.”

The I’ll Be There singer is also getting ready to play with Brit Award veterans the

Spice Girls on their reunion tour. She said: “I’m so excited. I can’t wait to go on the road with them.
