VAR farce, says Silva after exit
Silva was livid after seeing the goal stand – before Murray Wallace scored an injurytime winner for the Championship side.
Blasted Silva: “It doesn’t make sense. We have to be fair to all the clubs and the competition, too. You have to do it for all the games otherwise it doesn’t make sense.
“Now we have to go home and it’s a big frustration.
“We are winning 2-1 and in that moment it makes a big impact. It’s not just for Everton but for the competition and all the clubs. Put VAR in all the stadiums.
“I haven’t spoken to Michael Oliver. Why. I respect him but I know what he will say as they always say the same thing.
“I am not here to change the rules. They know what they can do. What is good for us is if they see what happens on the pitch. And in that moment on the pitch it was handball.”
Jubilant Lions boss Neil Harris was seen telling Millwall officials not to show the replay of Cooper’s goal on the big screen.
And the defender later admitted it
WAS handball.
Penalty
“My arm was alongside my body but you would have to give every penalty that hit your arm if you are going to pull that up. We’ll take that and luckily we got the winner.”
Said Harris: “I’m proud of my players, they were magnificent. It’s big for the football club. The fans galvanised us at key times.
“I want a home tie in the next round because I’d always want to play at The Den. We like it to be hostile and play attack-minded aggressive football.
“People have come here today to see a cup upset because it’s a tough place for Premier League teams to play.”
MATTY DOLAN socked it to MIDDLESBROUGH as NEWPORT rocked Tony Pulis’ side.
Sub Dolan, an ex-boro academy midfielder, grabbed a last-gasp leveller at the Riverside to earn a 1-1 draw as the League Two outfit forced an FA Cup fourth-round replay against the Championship promotion-chasers.
And County boss Mike Flynn revealed: “Matty did my head in because his socks weren’t ready when he was coming on – he hadn’t taped them up properly. We had a few choice words, but it’s all forgotten. It’s unbelievable – you couldn’t write it because the boy who scored is an ex-middlesbrough player.
“He had about 40 of his family in the crowd. He was disappointed he didn’t start and I don’t think he’s ever scored a goal in the box.
“It’s a fairytale really, but I’m slightly disappointed we didn’t win. .’’
