I boobed but Olivia was get out of jail card

- By Neil Goulding

BRADLEY DACK knows he was lucky not to be sent to prison after a “stupid” brush with the law.

But Blackburn’s talisman midfielder has got his blossoming career back on track as the Lancashire club push for a dream Premier League return.

Dack was convicted of an assault on a police officer in October 2017 after a night partying with pals, and ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work.

However, the 25-yearold footballer breached his community order three times and was close to being jailed before a judge spared him, instead extending his order as a final warning.

“It was a stupid mistake and it shouldn’t have happened,” said Dack (below). “But it did happen and you have to learn from your mistakes.

“Nothing like that will happen again. It was probably a good thing that it did, because it made me grow up.

“It definitely changed me for the better. I really feel I’ve mellowed and calmed down a lot. That’s just my way of life now.

“It was a massive shock to the system. It was one of those things that I never thought would happen.

“I was lucky to stay out of prison. It was a mistake and I’ve learnt from it.”

Dack’s impressive performances on the pitch get people talking, but they talk more about his relationship with TV celebrity

Olivia Attwood.

Dack admits his girlfriend’s support has helped him turn his life around. “Olivia has really been massively supportive to me, especially with what’s happened the last year or so,” said Dack (above with his partner).

“She’s been brilliant. I am a private person and don’t really talk about Olivia, but I enjoy being part of that celebrity life.

“People are always going to want to look into our lives. People want to know everything about us, but that doesn’t really affect me.

“It’s never affected my football, which is definitely the main thing. We weren’t in the public eye before Olivia went on The Only Way Is Essex.”

But despite celebrity status, Dack has ruled out a cameo appearance.

“The boys have been winding me up, they’ve been asking me if I’ll ever be in TOWIE,” he added.

“I can’t see it, to be honest. I can only imagine what the gaffer’s face would be like if I did! The only way it might work is it it was ‘The Only Way is Blackburn.’”

Dack bagged 18 goals last season and has hit the goal trail this season as the Championship outfit try to get back in the top flight. Rovers boss Tony Mowbray stuck by the player through his troubles and is now starting to see the reward for his support.

“I’ve given him some honest advice, I think that’s what he needed,” revealed Mowbray.

“That’s the immaturity of a young footballer and a young guy who lives in a bubble, yet the reality of when the law comes knocking sinks in.

“He’s a fantastic lad and a lovely human being. If for one minute I thought he had a nasty edge to him and he was a bit sneaky, I wouldn’t have gone to court last year and spoke up for him.”
