STRICTLY Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard is furious after the police failed to bring anyone to justice over his savage assault by a gang at a nightclub.

The star has been told that police have dropped the case against the only suspect facing court.

AJ , who wowed nine million viewers last night partnering Youtuber Saffron Barker, was left with bruises all over his face, arms and legs and is dogged by flashbacks.

The 24-year-old and his Love Island star brother Curtis, 23 , were attacked by a pack of eight thugs in a nightclub crammed with witnesses and covered by CCTV.

But despite those potential leads no one has been brought to book almost a year after the mob beating, alongside.

Yesterday the police force at the centre of the probe told the Sunday People the case against the only charged suspect had been “discontinued”.

A friend of AJ’S told us: “He’s very upset. He feels justice has not been served.

“He’s been the victim of a violent crime and nothing has been done.”

The attack happened on December 27 at the Nakatcha club in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The dancer’s pal said: “Even though he has tried to forget it and move on with his life, he still gets flashbacks and worries about him or others being targeted again.”

“It is very upsetting for him and his brother Curtis.”

Cheshire Police said there is insufficient evidence to move on with the investigation into the December 27 attack.

A spokesman said: “Officers launched an investigation and since then have carried out numerous enquiries including speaking to a number of witnesses, reviewing a large amount of CCTV footage and conducting forensic enquiries.

“As a result a 21-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with assault. However the case against him has since been discontinued at a magistrates court.

“At this stage there is insufficient evidence to progress the case any further and the victims have been fully updated.”

The pal said: “He feels that if this crime has slipped through the net, what other crimes have gone unchallenged and not been brought to justice?”

Love Island runner- up Curtis previously said their attackers may have been motivated by jealousy as AJ had posed for photos with adoring girl fans and “is a good-looking lad”.

The brothers recalled the horrifying details of that night during a joint appearance on This Morning six days after the attack.

Curtis said: “We were minding our own business, having one of the best nights out ever when I just had a push to my right.”

AJ, who dates dancer Abbie Quinnen, added: “By the time he went to look who had pushed him he was punched,
