MONDAY as PM forced to sign EU letter ARCURI BID TO BE MAYOR’

-

Mr Johnson told his MPS not to bother even voting on his deal.

Had the PM not so angered Northern Ireland’s DUP and its ten MPS who voted against him, he might have won the day.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: “The PM must now comply with the law. He can no longer use the threat of a n no-deal crash-out to blackmail MPS to support his sell- out deal.” And SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford added: “Any PM who thinks he’s above the law will see himself in court.”

Earlier the Labour leader told the PM: “This deal would cost jobs and sell workers’ rights down the river.

“It would lead to a Trump trade deal and expose families to chlorine-washed chicken and hormone-treated beef.

“It could cost each person in this country over £2,000 per year.

“If we vote for a deal that makes our constituents poorer, we will not be forgiven.”

DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds said: “The deal is not Brexit for Northern Ireland.”

Former PM Theresa May backed Mr Johnson’s deal and said all MPS who voted for Article 50 triggering the Brexit process should do likewise. She added: “If this parliament did not mean it then it is guilty of the most egregious con trick on the British people.”

MPS who could not find childcare for the day brought their children in.

Peter Theodore Alphage Rees-mogg, 11, shook his head in disagreement as Mr Corbyn spoke. He watched from a side gallery dressed in the same suit, tie and specs style of his Commons leader father

Jacob in the Chamber below.

Commons staff were also called in on their day off but were handsomely rewarded with overtime plus £20 an hour and free tea and coffee. BORIS Johnson’s pal Jennifer Arcuri has told friends she wants to be the next Mayor of London.

The tech entrepreneur, who admits having a “close bond” with the PM while he held the position, is American but her husband is British. It means she could be eligible if she takes citizenship. A source said: “Jennifer has a huge following in the capital’s tech community and will work hard to champion the interests of UK companies.”

The PM faces a probe on possible misconduct in public office over

their friendship.
