Dak’s the real deal at Dallas

- BY KEITH WEBSTER

DAK PRESCOTT is loving the spotlight and the pressure of trying to put Dallas back on top of the NFL.

The Cowboys’ quarterback pulled out all the stops on Monday night to beat the New York Giants and keep Dallas on top in the NFC Eastern Division.

Tonight, the selfproclaimed ‘America’s Team’ face the Minnesota Vikings in the TV prime time slot for the third game in a row as they try to find a way back to the Super Bowl after 24 years without an appearance in the big game.

And Prescott, now in his fourth year with the club, reckons living in a fishbowl is something you have to accept in the Lone Star State.

“It’s part of playing for this organisation,” admitted Prescott.

“You become accustomed to it.

“It’s exciting to know that the whole world is watching but you’re going to get the same from me whether it’s millions watching or nobody’s watching.”

The Cowboys were one of the dominant teams of the early

Super Bowl years, appearing in the season finale eight times in the first 30 years. They won five of those, including three in four years between 1992 and 1995 but they have had to watch New England, Pittsburgh and Green Bay dominate the landscape ever since.

This season, they are scoring a lot of points and playing an exciting brand of football – but according to Prescott, 26, they have only scratched the surface.

Prescott (above) said: “To see where we are and where our record is, that’s something you can grow from.

“We haven’t played our best football yet, but we are No.1 in offence and that’s something we can be proud of.

“But it’s not who we are, it’s not what we’re aiming for. We’re aiming to be a successful team.

“We haven’t played our best – that’s ahead of us.”
