No happy end for Farke’s tale of two Cities

-

NORWICH’S stunning 3-2 victory over Manchester City seven weeks ago seems a distant memory now.

The euphoria which engulfed Carrow Road that night has fast disappeared.

They are hurtling back towards the Championship and unless they can rediscover the belief they showed against the champions then nothing is going to save them from the drop.

Daniel Farke (below) can rightly point to the problems he has had with injuries, although they had pretty much an entire XI missing against City and still produced one of the results of the season.

It was a display borne out of grit and determination, shape and discipline, and of taking chances when they came.

It should have been the blueprint for the rest of the season, but instead Norwich look to have assumed they could beat anyone once they had beaten City.

The problem is that if output drops by even the odd percentage point in the Premier League then teams will take advantage.

And since then Burnley, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Brighton and now Watford have beaten Norwich, with their only point coming against Bournemouth.

Norwich fans might now think they’d have been better getting stuffed by City to focus minds on games that looked far more winnable.
