I’M A Celeb’s Caitlyn Jenner will drive campmates wild by being a “slob”, the reality star’s first wife predicts.

Chrystie Scott, 69, believes the “fearless” former Olympic athlete will be very competitive and not be put off by eating foul foods such as kangaroo penis.

And in an exclusive interview, Chrystie reveals how Caitlyn, then Bruce Jenner, had fantasised about being a woman 40 years before having gender reassignment surgery.

But when her then ex told of his planned op she cried for two days and felt like “my husband was dead”.

And when Chrystie first saw Caitlyn she struggled not to stare, feeling her look was too Hollywood.

Medallist

She met Bruce when they were studying in Lamoni, Iowa. They married for nine years from 1972 and had a son and daughter.

Chrystie never saw her ex in the kitchen but thinks she will be fine with creepy crawlies as she will “see the funny side of eating” them and, as a former decathlon Olympic gold medallist, be super competitive.

But Chrystie also said Caitlyn had been “kind of a slob with clothes on the floor. I don’t think there’s ever been long periods of time when she has had to care for herself.”

Chrystie, who lives in Ojai, California, said Bruce confessed to her during their first year of marriage that “he wanted to be a girl”.

She explained how she had been attracted to the fun-loving, down-toearth Bruce.

“It’s kind of tragic he’s changed in that way.”

Chrystie who has son Burt, 41, and daughter Cassandra, 39, with the star, revealed they fell into marriage because he needed support while he pursued his Olympic dream.

When he won in Montreal in 1976 he was seen as the epitome of masculinity, proclaimed the world’s greatest athlete. His confession had shocked his wife. Chrystie said: “There was no indication in any area of our marriage. But I loved him and I tried to be compassionate and understanding. He said it was a fantasy and he wasn’t going to act on his desire. I’d never seen him dressing in women’s clothes or anything like that. I asked: ‘How should I handle this?’ And he told me not to worry about it.”

Caitlyn, then Bruce, went on to marry actor Linda Thompson and then Kris Kardashian.

Chrystie said: “We drifted apart, and he was kind of lost. And then he fell in love with someone else. So there wasn’t any way it could work.”

That woman was Linda Thompson, who Chrystie is good friends with – they spend Thanksgiving together.

It was not until 1985, when Bruce was married to Linda, with sons Brody and Brandon, he revealed he was thinking about surgery. She said

Bruce took her up in his plane and broke the news.

She said: “I cried for two days. I told him I felt like my husband was dead, and he laughed and said, ‘I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere.’ But that’s his sense of humour.’

When Chrystie saw Caitlyn for the first time she says she was shocked and struggled not to stare.

Now she blames the Kardashian clan

– including his most recent wife

Kris – for transforming him into a person who is too “Hollywood” having appeared
