STILL TUTTING ABOUT KING TUT’S MISSING TREASURE

-

YOU really learn the mettle of your leaders when your nation is in crisis.

So it is with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who has proved worse than inadequate during the nation’s terrifying bushfire crisis.

Defending his Hawaiian an holiday while his country burned and people died, he tweeted: “There’s always something g going going on...” on...”

So perhaps the best message of disgust came from a firefighter who refused to shake his hand.

A rebuff from an exhausted local hero who had just lost his home to the inferno surely has to resonate with this climate change denier?

The Aussies voted him in about 18 months ago.

As a nation they should now get rid of bad rubbish at the very least.

WENT to see the Tutankhamun exhibition in London over the hols.

Though I’ve been to Cairo several times and spent hours staring at the incredible treasures, it was a thrill to see a select few of them at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea.

It was fantastic – how could it not be? You’re looking at beautiful wonderful works of art created for the Boy King 3,300 years ago.

I went with my son Conor and his girlfriend Dana. We especially loved the virtual reality tomb tour.

Only criticism? They use Tut’s famous funeral mask to sell the exhibition but it’s not there, like it was the first time the artefacts came to Britain. In fact, none of the truly stunning solid gold objects which came to London back in 1972 have made it on tour this time, so be warned if you’re thinking of making the pilgrimage.

It’s expensive, the VR bit costs extra and there is no golden mask – but at the moment, it’s still cheaper, easier and perhaps safer than visiting Cairo.
