Power to fight sick monsters

MEGHAN Markle has got to be the best thing that ever happened to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Let’s face it, pre-markle Kate Middleton came in for a lot of flack.

Back in the noughties she was nicknamed Waity Katie because she and Prince William had such a prolonged romance before marriage.

Her mum was horribly labelled a social climber and, even on her wedding day, her sister Pippa stole the limelight with her figure-hugging dress. Since then she’s gone

on to become an amazing mum-of-three, a fashion icon and a Queen in waiting.

It was all done with quiet dignity and we barely noticed until the arrival of Meghan and all the noise she brought with her.

Now we are finally hearing more from Kate, who has opened up about how tough she’s found juggling motherhood and suffers mum-guilt like the rest of us.

I want to hear more. I like her. As a nation, it’s like we’ve suddenly woken up to discover who really wears the Crown.

HOLLYWOOD rapist Harvey Weinstein has finally been brought to justice.

My hope is that the tsunami that started with the Metoo movement cascades down from Tinseltown to make today’s young woman stronger.

Every woman in that courtroom in America was humiliated and degraded all over again under cross examination.

Without their testimony, the case would have fallen apart.

Their resilience and courage is exactly what’s needed to bring sex offenders to justice.

The case shows that standing up to abusers achieves results – even when they are rich and powerful.

I hope that it filters down to every workplace, every cafe, every pub and every street in the country; that it will lead men to think twice about harassment and sexual assault and give women the confidence to report them.

VICTORIA’S Secrets is changing tack to attract new shoppers by putting “diverse” bodies on its Instagram. Sorry, too little too late.
