POLES APART Scaffolder is a champion pole dancer

- By Karen Rockett

SEXY scaffolder Justin Judge spends his days putting up poles and his nights swinging on them.

The world pole dancing champion loves to show off his raunchy moves on building sites.

Homeowners are gobsmacked when the muscular tradesman reveals his hobby on their roofs.

Justin, 32, said: “I show off my moves now and again on site but it depends where I am, as health and safety aren’t always wildly impressed.

“My friends and family were pretty surprised when I started pole dancing.

“Just like with male ballet dancers, people take the mick.

“It’s obviously seen as quite a feminine sport but it takes huge skill and strength.”

Justin started six years ago after his hairdresser Jessica Yardy convinced him to try it.

The pair now compete together and last October they won the doubles title at the World Pole Sport and

Fitness Championships in Belfast. Last month Justin came third in his first professional singles competition at Mr Pole Fitness Pro Championships in Crawley, West Sussex.

By day, Justin works as a scaffolder for his family’s business in Skegness, Lincs.

He added: “There’s obviously a lot of testosterone on a building site but we have fun. Often I show colleagues a few moves then say, ‘You have a go.’ But they can’t do it. They shut up teasing when they realise how hard it is.”

Justin’s signature move is the Iron X, hanging from a ladder.

He thinks more men should try it. “People don’t believe me when I tell them. But straight men can pole dance too.

“I keep trying to get some males to come but there’s a stigma attached to it.

“Some men can feel awkward being around loads of ladies too. But it’s good fun and everyone is so friendly. I’ve never looked back.”
