Dad £40k kid shock
Whale of a time at job
A MAN who paid £38,000 in child maintenance was ordered to keep paying, even though he discovered he is not the father.
The dad-of-two was devastated when his ex-girlfriend told him last year the 14-year-old girl was not his. But the Child Maintenance Service initially said he still owed £2,000 of arrears.
The man, from Hull, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: “I am paying arrears I do not owe, for a child that is not mine.”
The CMS has backed down after an appeal.

A JOB dismantling the skeletons of a 12-metre whale and a giant tuna is on offer at a museum.
The winning applicant must pack up 50,000 items, including the whale skeletons, while Hull Maritime Museum gets a revamp.
The work is part of Hull’s £27.5million maritime city project next year.
The city’s deputy council leader Daren Hale said: “Some of these skeletons will play a starring role in our new displays, helping to tell the story of Hull’s maritime past.”
