Sex scenes will help my cha cha chances

Greg’s happy to flash flesh on dance floor

- Sarah Robertson Feedback@people.co.uk

GREG Wise has shot plenty of saucy scenes in the past and is now ready to shed his inhibitions – and his clothes – on Strictly’s dance floor.

Fans of the handsome film star have already seen plenty of his taut torso in films such as 2014’s Walking on Sunshine and 2000’s Madame Bovary, and in TV series Modus in 2015.

He has no hang-ups or nerves about going bare-chested, like predecessors Ben Cohen and Scott Maslen, or getting up really close with his professional partner Karen Hauer, 39, in sexy numbers such as the tango.

Greg, 55, said: “I have done a lot of nude scenes over the years, so I can get into character. It is fantastically exciting.

“I’ve done the first week of rehearsals and I didn’t die. I didn’t pull anything, I am still walking, I’ve still got energy.”

Greg and Oscarwinner Dame Emma Thompson, 62, have been together since they met and fell in love on the set of the highly acclaimed Sense and Sensibility in 1996.

And he was quick to make light of the Strictly curse, under which celebs break up with their real-life partners during filming.

Greg – speaking at the Landmark Hotel, where he was supporting the ICON Ball fashion fundraiser for Wellchild and NHS Charities Together – laughed it off and said his wife is not jealous.

Nonsense

He said: “There is no Strictly curse, that is nonsense... I’ve been told to say that!

“Obviously I would like to be paired with Anton Du Beke,” he joked, adding: “I’m very happy with my dance partner.

“Emma and I have been together now 26 years.

“We’ve been married now for 19, which is porcelain. I made a little sort of doll’s house toilet mounted on something with 19 written on its side.”

But Greg said he did not think Strictly was really Emma’s thing. “She doesn’t know the

first thing about waltzing – but I’m learning something I never thought I’d ever do.

“I don’t speak the language at all, I am learning the vocabulary, so it’s all a bit mad.

“You’re going to see it when we do our couples’ choice – you’ll get all the

story and you’ll get the dance.” Just before the live show, Greg also admitted to being accident prone.

He has been seeking advice from his pal, last year’s winner Bill Bailey, on how best to take care of himself during the gruelling competition.

He said: “Bill told me put the dance

shoes on as soon as you can to avoid getting blisters and just wear them around the house – wear them all the time. He got terrible feet last year. I am very accident prone, so I am worried about everything, which is not good.

“One week in we are OK but I am doing an awful lot of stretching,

I am taking care of myself. Epsom salts baths, just doing whatever I can do to keep going... but I am doing great.”

Greg also insisted he will not be fazed by the bitchy put-downs of judge Craig Revel Horwood,

saying: “He is the pantomime villain it’s fine, it’s just a bit of theatre.

“Not going to bite back. Suck it up! That’s the point.

“I am my own harshest judge and if I think at the end of the piece I have done the best I can do and I haven’t let my partner down, it doesn’t matter what anyone says.”
