Frank is so fond of the Foxtrot...

- Harry Pratt

THOMAS FRANK feels a tingle in his bones just thinking about Leicester City winning the Premier League.

According to the Brentford boss (below), the 5000-1 shock back in May 2016 forever changed the world of the sporting underdog.

It was a major reason why he and his Premier League rookies Brentford even dared to dream about one day performing at the highest level.

Frank gets emotional simply discussing that momentous moment five years ago when Claudio Ranieri’s unheralded Foxes defied the odds to conquer the Premier League.

The Dane, 48, said: “In sport, we need those stories when the underdog beats everyone because it gives everyone hope.

“It’s the reason that so many Championship teams dream that, with one good season and with just a bit of luck, they can get into this magic world.

“I clearly remember everyone cheering for Leicester to beat all the established clubs. You wanted them to win the title so badly.

“It was a fantastic story. So fantastic that I almost get goosebumps now thinking about it.

“Those players are heroes to this day. Everyone remembers it and, for them, no matter what else they go on to achieve, that’s the biggest achievement in football – and in sport.”

As for the long-term ambitions of newly-promoted Brentford, who host Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester side this afternoon, Frank claims there is no ceiling.“dreaming in life is important,” said Frank, who took over the reins in 2018. “If we’re not dreaming, then we can’t achieve anything big. You need to dream and believe.”
