Tribute to the 5m

A WOMAN writes a message on a wall remembering those lost to Covid.

The touching London memorial, emblazoned with 150,000 hearts, is one of many across the globe.

Yesterday the official Covid death toll stood topped five million worldwide, giving the memorials in each country special poignancy.

Many include memorial flags, hearts and ribbons to represent each life taken.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised Brits they can enjoy Christmas as normal this year – which is exactly what he said in 2020 before banning indoor socialising.

Despite scientists warning that Covid cases will rise once the school half-term is over, Mr Johnson said at the G20 summit in Rome: ”I see no evidence whatever to think any kind of lockdown is on the cards.”
