Amber dog trip probed

- Karen Rockett

HOLLYWOOD actress Amber Heard is being investigated for perjury over claims she lied to officials when she flew her two dogs into Australia.

The ex-wife of Johnny Depp, 35, avoided charges after the couple apologised in a video and she blamed a lack of sleep for entering the country without proper paperwork for Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo.

But authorities are revisiting the case after Depp’s former estate manager, Kevin Murphy, said Heard ordered him to lie about the trip to Queensland in 2015.

He made the claim during last year’s libel trial between Depp and The Sun.

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment have reportedly enlisted the help of the FBI to track down witnesses in the US. In Queensland perjury carries a maximum jail term of 14 years.
