CAROLYN WINS FOR WOMEN
CONGRATULATIONS to a good friend of this column – and a good friend in general – Carolyn Harris, whose latest bill scored a win in Parliament.
We’ve campaigned with the MP against fixed odds betting machines and ending fees for child burials. This time, she was fighting for menopause fairness. Carolyn’s bill sought to make NHS prescriptions for HRT in England and to require the publication of a Uk-wide strategy, covering support services and education. It went through. Of course it did.
Sometimes in Parliament, it’s easy to get caught up in the minutiae and you forget what the place is supposed to be about.
It’s about fighting for people who haven’t had a fair deal and working with MPS across the House to change this
Carolyn keeps on doing just that, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
