Don’t miss out on a date with Myanna
GIVEN the popularity of Cold Feet and Friends, I’m always baffled there aren’t more relationship dramas on TV.
Commissioners sometimes seem reluctant to back any series that doesn’t feature a detective or superhero.
So I was excited to spot a binge-worthy new show on Britbox called One Night, which follows the progress of a blind date in Oslo.
Myanna Buring stars as a waitress called Elizabeth, who is set up with an enigmatic carpenter called Jonas.
It’s shot in real time, which means no montages of them getting progressively more giggly as they knock back the wine.
Instead, we live out every toe-curling second of their early tumbleweed moments, with Elizabeth keeping a firm eye on the exit and Jonas texting under the table.
It’s like a particularly exciting episode of First Dates, except that Fred is Norwegian.
