Marko rues Max’s ‘lost’ race points

RED BULL’S Helmut Marko believes Max Verstappen’s lead over title rival Lewis Hamilton could be greater if not for more than 50 points lost “innocently”.

Verstappen (above) leads

Mercedes rival Hamilton by 12 points but has been forced to retire after first-lap contact, a tyre issue late on and damage at the start.

Advisor Marko said: “We innocently lost Baku, lost Silverstone and lost Hungary – it’s over 50 points.”
