Nothing Mor Steve can do
STEVE MORISON is in the dark if Cardiff’s last-gasp win over Huddersfield will be his final match in caretaker charge.
Morison was initially handed three games to stake his claim to replace Mick Mccarthy.
And his final match yesterday saw him steer them to their first win in 11 games.
Wales striker Kieffer Moore was the hero with two late headers to seal a stoppagetime victory after Danel Sinani gave Huddersfield a half-time lead with his first goal for the club.
Morison said: “It’s fantastic. I think everyone needed it.
“The whole place needed it, the boys in that dressing room more than anyone. It will get the fans right back behind us again.
“The players were excellent. Take their goal out of it, which was a horrendous goal to give away, and I thought we dominated.”
Asked about his future,
Morison added: “Your guess is as good as mine. We’ll just have to watch this space.
“Ultimately, you’re only as good as your last game. I’m a pretty calm guy, I don’t get too high or too low.
“I’ve loved it. It’s been a great experience. It’s a job I’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing over the past few weeks and I’m going to enjoy my weekend now.”
Norwich loanee Sinani took advantage of a woeful backpass from Mark Mcguinness to put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute.
And they hit the woodwork twice in the second half when keeper Alex Smithies diverted a Levi Colwill header onto the post from point-blank range.
Danny Ward hit the upright against his old club with Smithies beaten.
Moore made them pay by heading in his first on 74 minutes from a Joe Ralls corner and the second in the third minute of time added on from
Isaak Davies’ centre.
“We dropped too deep at the end,” admitted Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan.
“To lose with the last action of the game is difficult to accept.
“In football you have to kill the result. We had the opportunities but we couldn’t score the second goal.”
