Colleagues and police appeal for information

- Dan Warburton feedback@people.co.uk

FRANTIC colleagues of a missing children’s hospital nurse made a desperate plea for information about her whereabouts last night.

Petra Srncova, 32, was last seen travelling home from work on November 28.

The senior nurse assistant left Evelina hospital, near Waterloo, South West London at 7.45pm.

She then took a bus to nearby Camberwell, South London, where she was spotted at 8.22pm.

Petra was wearing a green coat and carrying a red rucksack when she was last seen.

She has not contacted her family in the Czech Republic since, police have said.

Last night, detectives were questioning a man arrested over her disappearance. The Evelina hospital said in a statement that Petra’s colleagues were “extremely concerned” about her.

It added: “We want to encourage anyone who may have any information that could help to find her to contact the police.”

Local MP Harriet Harman also called on people to come forward.

She said: “Her parents are desperately worried.

“I feel we’ve all got a particular responsibility to try and help find her because she was away from her home country, away from her family, here, working in our National Health Service.

“So we are just calling out to

any of her friends, anybody who’s seen her… get in touch with the police with whatever information you have.

“We want to make sure that she can be found, and we’re obviously hoping that she’s safe.”

Investigator, Det Supt Clair Kelland, said the police were growing “increasingly worried about Petra and doing everything we can to try and find her”.

She added: “Please think about if you’ve seen her, or maybe come into contact with her. If you have any information whatsoever, please get in touch and help us with our enquiries.”

Petra vanished less than three miles from where Sarah Everard was abducted last March.

Marketing worker Sarah, 33, was kidnapped in Clapham then raped and murdered by police officer Wayne Couzens in a crime that ignited a national debate over women’s safety.

Couzens, 48, was sentenced to life in jail in October.
