Liz’s Shane heartbreak

- CREASING UP: With Elton by Emer Scully

SHANE Warne’s heartbroken ex-fiancée Elizabeth Hurley has paid an emotional tribute to her “beloved Lionheart” who died from a suspected heart attack.

Liz, 56, joined celebs and the world of cricket in a state of shock at the sudden death of spin ball wizard Warne, one of the game’s all-time greats.

They were engaged for two years from September 2011. She posted pictures of them together with the caption: “I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart.”

He had said their three years together were the “happiest time of his life”.

Liz’s son Damien, 19, also said Warne was a “father figure” for most of his formative years in a heartfelt Instagram post, adding that he “was truly one of the best men I’ve ever known”.

Alongside nine photographs of Warne and Damien when he was around 12 years old, he posted the caption: “I’m still trying to wrap my head around this. My heart is broken. Thinking of and sending love to all SW’S family.”

The Aussie bowler, 52, was found dead on Friday by friends in a villa in Koh Samui, Thailand.

According to Thai police, he had a history of asthma and had seen a doctor after suffering chest pains.

The death is not suspicious and his body has been transferred to hospital for a postmortem.

Bridgette told a newspaper: “We’re just in shock, we’re OK.”

Warne had tweeted about the death of fellow

Aussie cricket legend, wicket keeper Rod Marsh, 74, who had died of heart attack earlier that day.

Tributes poured in for Warne. Sir Elton John wrote: “A tragic day for Australian cricket. Two legends passing is heartbreaking. I knew them both and played cricket with Rod in Perth.

“A very special and fearless man. Shane was a magical bowler.”

Fellow singer Ed Sheeran said Warne had “the kindest heart” and described him as “a gentleman”.

Warne leaves three children with exwife Simone Callahan – Brooke, 24, Jackson, 22, and Summer, 20.

Outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground devastated fans left cans of beer, a tin of Heinz Beans, a meat pie, a packet of cigarettes and flowers next to his statue.

Ex-player David Boon said: “He made cricket enjoyable for us all and he was a light for everyone.

“So confident on the ground but off the ground so vulnerable.”

Victoria plans to hold a state funeral for Warne, who took 708 test wickets.
