Funky motel and diner outfit Mollie’s is the go-to for travellers seeking to go bold on a budget.

With properties in Oxfordshir­e and Bristol, the brand is heading for Manchester’s iconic Granada Studios, where the Beatles and the Sex Pistols made their firstever TV appearance­s, to open a new branch in 2023.

From £50 per double per night in Soho House-designed rooms, guests get the Mollie’s treatment on arrival with a self-check-in.

Bedrooms feature Conran furniture, Hypnos mattresses and bathrooms with rain showers, Cowshed products and the latest Dyson and GHD hair appliances.

Guests’ phones automatica­lly pair with the in-room Smart TV remote, casting their personal Netflix or Spotify account directly to the screen. Electric Vehicle charging bays can be pre-booked, free of charge.

Mollie’s Diner is an all-day hang-out serving cocktails and contempora­ry cooking from build-your-own breakfast waffles to decadent burgers.

Luxury hotel brand Hyatt has added a new London property to its portfolio, bringing the total to nine in the capital.

The 204-room Hyatt Regency London Blackfriar­s is set to open in July and will feature an all-day New York-style bistro, a speciality Chinese restaurant, a large outdoor space and a fitness centre.

Occupying a former palace, which is a Grade Ii-listed building, the hotel is ideal for business travellers as well as those visiting London for pleasure as it’s within walking distance of the dynamic South Bank area, St Paul’s Cathedral and Shakespear­e’s Globe theatre.
