- Edwards: Waseem is below my level TOM HOPKINSON

BY

SUNNY EDWARDS isn’t worried about any scorecard issues after the Josh Taylor-jack Catterall blowup when he faces Muhammad Waseem in Dubai on Saturday.

That’s because the 26-year-old Englishman is not expecting the Pakistani fighter to be anywhere near him in the judges’ eyes, even if he lasts the distance.

IBF featherweight champion Edwards (above), who is making a second defence of his crown, said: “My fights aren’t close enough for that to be a problem.

“Yes, he has two arms, two legs and, like anyone else, he has ambition and desire.

"But the level I am at and the level I’m reaching, showing and proving, I don’t think he has ever shown, and I will only get better.

“I’m levels above him, I’m levels above a lot of these fighters."

»Sunny Edwards v Muhammad Waseem at Probellum Evolution is exclusively live on Eurosport’s linear channels, Discovery+ and the Eurosport app. See local listings for details.
